Council approves road fund and water-system asset-management grants; roll-call votes recorded

Resolution 2026-22, to participate in the New Mexico Department of Transportation Local Government Road Fund, passed on a roll call. The project described by staff would provide chip-seal work in a neighborhood grid (noted as multiple blocks including 6th–8th) and requires a 25% match from the town’s public-works budget. Councillor Snyder moved to approve the resolution and Councillor Slice seconded; roll-call responses were recorded as ayes and the motion carried.
Resolution 2026-23, authorizing the town to enter into a funding agreement with the New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission, also passed by roll call. Town staff described the ISC grant as a roughly $906,000 award that would fund an asset management plan for the potable water system, including creation of a GIS database to inventory pipe types and inform maintenance scheduling. Staff said the ISC grant is 100% funded and, with council approval, the town will execute the agreement.
Both resolutions were presented by staff and briefly discussed by council members before unanimous roll-call approval. The council recorded ayes during roll calls for both items and moved on to other business.
