Board approves I-Ready universal screener contract; final quote to be reduced

The Martin County Board of Education voted to approve a contract for the I-Ready universal screener and Pathway instructional component after a presentation by Kim Lilly, a Martin County Schools staff member.
Kim Lilly described the I-Ready online screener (administered three times a year) and a weekly 45-minute Pathway component for ELA and math that places students on individualized instructional pathways. "This is for the online components...the district has used I Ready for quite a few years, so we would like to continue to use this as a universal screener this year," Lilly said.
Lilly presented an initial quote of $100,356.72 but said she requested a revised lower quote that removes kindergarten and first-grade reading universal screener and pathway components and that the vendor was preparing that revision. "So what I'm asking for approval, it will be less than this one right here," she said.
The board moved, seconded and approved the motion to accept the I-Ready Universal Screener and Pathway quote; the meeting minutes reflect the board voice indicating "all in favor, say aye" and no recorded opposition.
Lilly explained operational details (the screener is taken across multiple days to avoid fatigue; pathway work is intended to be implemented in short rotations in classrooms). The approval authorizes procurement with the understanding that the final purchase price will be updated once the revised quote is received.
The board did not record specific dissent or amendment on the floor; the item passed during the meeting.
