Board declares North Everett School surplus, will present resolution to county

The Martin County Board of Education approved a resolution declaring the North Everett School property surplus at its Oct. 7 meeting.
Mr. McPherson explained the property had been offered to the county previously and, following consultation with the county attorney Ben Eisner, recommended the board approve a fresh surplus resolution so the county commission could consider disposition. "My recommendation would be to approve this and then we can move forward with the surplusing of this particular piece of property," he said.
A board member moved, the motion was seconded, and the resolution on disposal of real property pertaining to North Everett School was approved by voice vote. Mr. McPherson said he would carry the signed resolution to the county commissioners for their consideration.
No sale price or purchaser was discussed at the meeting; the resolution was a declaration of surplus status to allow the county to consider next steps.
