Lyme Conservation Commission approves minutes, appoints alternate as voting member and shifts meeting schedule

At the May 4 Lyme Conservation Commission meeting, members approved prior minutes, handled routine administrative business and set several outreach items.
On a motion by Meg Sheehan, seconded by Ann Flood, the commission approved the March minutes by unanimous roll call. On a motion by Matt Stevens, seconded by Meg Sheehan, the revised April minutes were approved unanimously as amended; the April amendment noted that appointment-type changes for Matt Stevens and Jill Niles were pending Select Board approval. The minutes record that members abstained from roll calls if they had not attended the meeting in question.
Jill Niles was appointed to serve as a full voting member for the meeting. The commission reached a general consensus to shift regular meetings permanently to the second Monday of each month starting in June and to continue meeting at the Lyme Center Academy Building, with the possibility of revisiting a winter location next fall. The May Town Forest hike originally proposed for May 9 was rescheduled to June 6 at 10 a.m. with a rain date of June 7 at 1 p.m. Blake Allison noted Green Up Day saw strong volunteer turnout with improved participation through CommunityCare of Lyme.
On a motion by Meg Sheehan, seconded by Lin Brown, Chair Blake Allison adjourned the meeting at 8:29 p.m. The minutes were submitted by Ann Barry Flood, Secretary, and the commission noted the next meeting may take place in person at the Lyme Center Academy Building with Zoom on Monday, June 8 beginning at 6:00 p.m. to accommodate a distant guest.
