ENGADINE, Mich.
The Engadine Consolidated Schools Board of Education on June 17 accepted the resignation of Superintendent and 7-12 Principal Andrew Alvesteffer, with the resignation recorded as effective July 17, 2026.
The motion to accept the resignation was made by Moore and supported by Hopper; the minutes record the action as carried. At the same meeting the board voted to post the superintendent position (motion by Nicole Solar, supported by Hopper) and tabled action on selecting an interim superintendent.
During the superintendent's report preceding action, Andrew Alvesteffer said the district is in excellent shape and that the transition to a new superintendent should be smooth. The minutes note a range of operational items and grants in the superintendent's report but do not specify a timeline for selecting an interim leader.
The minutes record the posting as effective June 9, 2026. The board did not record a decision on an interim appointment; follow-up on interim leadership and recruitment is expected at a future meeting.
