Lyme Select Board approves grader blade purchase, permits, drone mapping and several land-use forms

The Town of Lyme Select Board on April 14, 2026, voted unanimously on a set of routine municipal items, including the purchase of a used grader blade, approvals of permits and current-use land filings, and authorization of a small drone-mapping estimate.
The board approved Road Agent Scott Bailey’s request to buy a grader blade from the Town of Strafford for $6,000 (Strafford’s new price for the blade was listed at $8,700). The motion to approve the purchase was made by Select Board member David Kahn and seconded by Benjamin Kilham; the motion passed unanimously. The board recorded the approval of the March 31, 2026 minutes and approved a manifest totaling $150,481.16 during the same session (motions by Kahn and Kilham; unanimous votes).
Land-use and event approvals included: an Intent to Cut for Map 408 Lot 26; a Report of Woodcut for Map 406 Lot 31 totaling $1,693.03; approval of the 2026 Prouty common-use application (with Chief Swett’s approval of the parking plan); and signature on a Form A-10 Current Use application for Map 414 Lot 27. All motions were moved by David Kahn or Benjamin Kilham, seconded, and carried unanimously.
The board also approved an estimate of $387.50 for a drone company to photograph and map material to be removed from 116 Dorchester Road. David Kahn presented that estimate; the motion to approve was unanimous.
The board took a nonbinding procedural step on a separate item: it expressed the sense of the board that David Roby should meet with an Eversource engineer to discuss moving electrical service around the common and return to the board with more detailed plans. That was recorded as board direction, not a contract award or formal engineering authorization.
All recorded votes at the April 14 meeting were unanimous among the voting members present (Select Board members Benjamin Kilham and David Kahn). Select Board member Michael Hinsley was absent. The meeting adjourned at 11:05 AM.
