Council approves voluntary annexation for Campbell Holdings site near Highway 119

The Mebane City Council voted on Dec. 2 to annex a roughly 25‑acre property owned by Campbell Holdings (referred to as Cambro in the staff presentation) at the intersection of Highway 70 and the new Highway 119. City staff recommended the annexation during a public hearing and noted the annexed land will be graded for an additional facility being developed by the property owner.
City staff said the annexation conforms with statutory authority for including road frontage as part of an annexation. Council closed the public hearing by motion and adopted the ordinance on a subsequent roll call; no opposition was raised during the hearing.
