A council member reported on July 14 that the Economic Development Council and city economic development staff have been assembling a rapid‑response team to centralize information and speed responses to time‑sensitive business‑recruitment leads. The presenter said the team is in final stages and aims to shorten response windows—sometimes as short as 10 days—so the region can respond competitively for jobs and investment.
"We had 10 days to respond, and 10 days just not enough," the council member said, describing a recent lead for a manufacturer that required faster coordination. The council member said the team should be able to assemble necessary materials and proposals within 10–15 days once fully operational.
