The council voted to approve attendance for Scott and Rachel at an upcoming historical preservation training conference scheduled July 22–26.
Rachel, who presented the item, said the conference replaces the usual September training and includes educational workshops, networking, and information the city could use to maintain and seek funding for the Gunderson home. “This conference... replaces a weekly, a required training that will take place in September,” Rachel said, noting the PLG scholarship could substantially reduce out-of-pocket costs if approved; she explained the scholarship requires a 30% match, which can be met partly by time spent attending the program.
A council member moved to approve attendance for both Scott and Rachel; the chair seconded and the motion passed on a voice vote. Scott said the motion will be followed by an item that adds the specific cost number to the record.
