School board approves policy amendments, consent agenda and superintendent goals; rates superintendent satisfactory

The Saint Lucie Public Schools Board of Education approved several routine and governance actions during its July 14 meeting, voting unanimously on policy amendments, the consent agenda and the superintendent’s evaluation and goals for 2026–27.

After the superintendent read recommended amendments to Policy 2120, Policy 2125 (school improvement and advisory councils), Policy 3242 (professional learning) and Policy 9271 (personalized education programs/PEP), the board opened a public hearing. No members of the public spoke. A motion to adopt the proposed amendments was made and the board carried the motion by voice vote (5–0).

The board also approved the consent agenda without discussion and recorded the action as 5–0. Later in the meeting, Board member Holly moved that the board submit an overall rating of 'satisfactory (beyond satisfactory)' for the superintendent’s performance; the motion passed 5–0. The board then approved the superintendent’s proposed goals for 2026–27 by unanimous vote.
