The Kemper County Utility District Board of Commissioners convened Aug. 21, 2024, at the Kemper County Courthouse Annex in DeKalb and approved the meeting agenda and the minutes of the July 17, 2024, meeting.
Commissioner Tony Luke moved to approve the agenda; Commissioner Bill Wilkerson seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Later, Commissioner Bobby McDade moved to approve the July 17 minutes; Commissioner Susan Morgan seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
The board reviewed a checking account balance of $15,505.43 and approved payment of two items on the claims docket: $1,630.20 to law firm Glover, Young, Hammack, Walton & Simmons for legal services and $217.16 to Empirical Energy for administrative services. Commissioner Luke moved to pay the claims and Commissioner Wilkerson seconded; the motion passed by unanimous vote.
The meeting record shows votes in favor by Commissioners Susan Morgan, Tony Luke, Bobby McDade and Bill Wilkerson. With no further business, the board adjourned.
The actions recorded at the meeting were routine procedural approvals and payment of vendor claims; no policy changes were made.
