The Williams County board approved a conditional use permit allowing an additional single-family dwelling on a rural residential parcel in Hazel Township.
Staff described agenda item LUDash0055Dash26 and told the board the applicant seeks permission to place a manufactured home as a second residence on Sublot 3 in the northwest of Section 1, Township 159 North, Range 97 West, in Hazel Township. Staff also stated they had not received comment back from Hazel Township as of July 1 and said the property is in the rural residential zoning district with access off 100 and 15th Avenue Northwest.
The applicant, who identified himself only as Jason, told the board, “My name is Jason.” He said he and his wife recently married and that they are requesting the permit to put a new house on that tract of land; he added the existing home would become storage and the new unit would serve as a secondary, so-called "mother-in-law" residence.
A board member asked whether the new dwelling would connect to the existing septic system; Jason replied yes.
After brief discussion, a motion "to approve with staff recommendations" was made and seconded. In a roll-call vote, board members Eric, Brett, Barry, George, Mark, Cheryl and Dan each voted yes and the chair announced the motion carried, approving the conditional use permit. The meeting was then adjourned; the board set its next meeting for Aug. 20.
The transcript did not record a full legal description beyond the staff remarks, did not provide last names for the board members, and did not specify an effective date for the permit.
