Town planner briefs committee on grants, greenhouse gas inventory and Climate Ready Kittery focus areas

Town Planner C. Bragg told the Kittery Climate Action Committee on Jan. 6 that the town is pursuing a Working Waterfront Grant upgrade and that details are still being finalized.
Bragg said the town'0s Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory is expected to be ready for committee review in February, which would inform the committee'0s near-term planning and emissions-reduction work.
Bragg also described Climate Ready Kittery priorities, saying the project will focus on the Spruce Creek Rt. 1 bridge and the Gate 2 Bridge area; she said Laura Berry, the SMPD project leader, will visit to meet with the committee. The planner reported that a shipyard representative'0s attendance at discussions had been curtailed as attention has focused on committee priorities.
Separately, members heard that a University of New England class will work with Kittery and Biddeford on a Wildfire Management Plan. Committee members thanked the Town Planner for work on these projects.
