Economic development director reports strong permit valuations, RFI activity and business filings

The office reported 129 business filings so far this year as a proxy for new business activity.
The director also described responding to request‑for‑information (RFI) notices from the governor’s office and regional partners and said the county responded to four RFIs in June (named in the presentation as Porchlight, Bill Strong, Switch and Western Moose). She noted ongoing construction activity at the Southwest Industrial Park and said the office is providing a one‑page summary for elected officials and the public on projects and leads; staff plans to host updated project information on brenhamed.com.
There was no formal action on the update; commissioners asked clarifying questions about particular leads and permitting figures.
