The Montgomery County Commission approved a series of routine consent items by voice vote.
Actions approved included the minutes of the July 7, 2026 meeting; accounts payable and payroll checks; submission of a FY '26 homeland security grant application; the 2026 annual report and corresponding county resolution; Amendment No. 1 to extend pest-control services through Aug. 31, 2027; an agreement with CivicPlus for a public records-request portal; a change order on the Montgomery County Detention Facility renovation; retiree longevity bonus legislation; an increase to absentee election manager pay; and the appointment of Rico Cox to the Montgomery City-County Public Library Board.
The commission also approved miscellaneous appropriations to youth and education organizations, travel and training requests across multiple departments and ratified a Project Safe Neighborhood subgrant award as a wave-rule item. Most votes were recorded as "aye" by voice vote; the lighting agreement for Break Lucas Drive required a separate recorded note about two abstentions.
