Neighbors support proposed renovations at 142 Armour Place but press for drainage mitigation

Barbara Wilheld, of the Magnolia neighborhood association, said the group visited the site and asked to meet the applicant prior to final consideration: "A nosotros nos gustareda 1º reunirnos con el solicitante...porque nosotros queremos proteger a nuestra colonia," she said.
Neighbors described concerns about an open garage, drainage toward adjacent yards and roof proximity to shared fences. Jim Bailey, the applicant for 142 Armour Place, testified that he had met with neighbors, proposed plantings and barriers to address drainage and visibility, and said he was working on mitigation measures.
After discussion the commission voted to approve the application with staff stipulations. Commissioners noted continued communication between the applicant and neighbors and asked staff to ensure required mitigation and permit review are completed before work begins.
Next steps: staff to prepare the Certificate of Appropriateness and confirm receipt of mitigation plans and permit documentation.
