The Mount Pleasant Village Board approved Resolution 12-20-26, amending Resolution 18-20-25 to transfer $1,500,000 from general fund reserves to the village’s OPEB fund as part of the 2026 budget.
A board member made a motion to approve Resolution 12-20-26, and the motion moved to discussion. Administrator Kathy explained the amendment: "This would be taking $1,500,000 from our general fund reserves and putting it in our OPEB fund and funding a percentage of our outstanding liability for OPEB." Board members noted the general fund would remain well funded after the transfer.
The clerk conducted a roll-call vote. Members Anastasio, Karas, Washburn, Ventrini, Bhatia, Pollock and De Groot were each recorded voting "Aye." The president announced the motion carries and the resolution was approved.
The board then moved to adjourn; there were no further votes recorded.
