Franklin County commissioners approved several procurement items, awarding a park‑maintenance contract and accepting a low road‑improvement bid.
On Oxford Park maintenance, two local bidders proposed seasonal mowing and basic upkeep. Zach Cox offered to maintain the park for $1,000 per season; the board voted to accept his bid after members noted the proposals were comparable.
On road work, staff opened bids for the Turgington (Treasureton) Road improvement. Multiple bids were received; DA Contracting submitted the lowest bid at about $69,750 and the board voted to award the contract to DA Contracting, subject to standard permit and bond requirements (125% bond recommended by staff).
Commissioners emphasized that work would not begin until required permits, bonds and financial assurances were in place and that staff would coordinate start dates and work coordination with the contractor.
