Council approves three licenses, moves several administrative items and schedules growth ordinance second reading

Licenses approved: - Waste hauler (Ship It Junk Removal): after departmental vetting the council approved the new waste-hauler license for Alexander Smith's Ship It Junk Removal. - Medical cannabis cultivation (Green Room LLC, 148B Pleasant Hill Rd.): staff reported no verified odor complaints attributable to this facility and the council approved the new license unanimously. - Food handler / special amusement / liquor (The Landing at Pine Point): owner Kevin McQuinn described the venue’s event-focused operation and operating limits (typical closing at 10 p.m.); the council granted the requested licenses and accepted the operating limits described in the application.
Other actions: the council approved the minutes of the June 17 meeting by unanimous vote and signed treasurer warrants; it also accepted a motion to table the amended rate-of-growth ordinance (reduced to 217 permits) so the item can return for a second reading on August 19.
