Shelton trustees grant conditional-use permit for family child care home at 302 Phelps Street

The Village of Shelton Board of Trustees on April 10 adopted Resolution No. 25-04-10, granting VRPN, LLC a Conditional Use Permit to operate a Family Child Care Home II at 302 Phelps Street.
Vice Chairman Keslar opened a public hearing at 7:00 p.m.; the applicants were present and answered questions. After hearing public comment the board closed the hearing at 7:10 p.m. and voted to approve the permit. Trustee Oberg moved to adopt the resolution and Trustee Jensen seconded; Trustees Oberg, Jensen and Keslar voted aye. Trustees Roe and Rabbe were absent.
The resolution finds the application meets the minimum standards in Article 6 of the Village zoning ordinance and imposes continuing conditions: the development must conform to the approved plan, the use must comply with the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance (except as expressly permitted in the approved plan), and the premises must be maintained to control weed growth. The resolution also explains that failure to comply may lead to revocation after a hearing and may require restoration of the premises to preexisting conditions. The permit is conditioned on the existence of a valid State of Nebraska license for the premises and becomes effective upon the applicant’s acceptance and the Village Clerk issuing a certified copy.
The board returned to its regular agenda after the hearing. No vote tally beyond the recorded ayes and absences was provided in the minutes.
