The Hemingford Public Schools Board approved the second reading of Policy 801.04R1 (Use of Safety Restraints) and advanced first readings of three proposed policy revisions during its Dec. 15 regular meeting.
A motion by Brett Cullan to approve the second reading of Policy 801.04R1 was seconded by Justin Ansley and carried 4-0. The board also approved first readings of Proposed Revised Policy 704.06 (Internal Controls), Proposed Revised 802.07 (School Food Procurement), and Proposed Revised 1002.00 (District Annual Report) on a motion by Micki Votruba, seconded by Justin Ansley; the roll call was recorded as Aye by the four attending members.
The board approved a request from the culture and climate committee to hold the annual staff recognition dinner on Feb. 27, 2026. The board also received a student board representative report from Dakota Horstman and a brief presentation by junior-high students about leadership development opportunities at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The board recognized students for "Bobcat Excellence," listing participants in the state football playoffs and other honorees as recorded in the minutes.
The minutes note the board completed policy review for the 300-series and scheduled review of policies 400 through 403.07 for the next meeting. The meeting adjourned at 5:52 PM.
