Library director will not seek reappointment; donated records and grant purchases reported
Summary
At the Sept. 10 meeting, trustees heard that the library director (Mueller) will serve through March 1, 2025 and has asked not to be reappointed; the library also received donated file boxes and is buying new items with grant funds.
During the Sept. 10 Valparaiso Board meeting, Denise Johnson presented the library report, saying there were no usage statistics this month and that Mueller will remain in the director role through March 1, 2025 but has indicated she does not wish to be reappointed afterward.
Johnson also reported that volunteers (identified as Kim and Dan) will pick up donated file boxes containing old village records for the library, and that the library is purchasing new items supported by grant funding.
No board action to appoint or replace the director was taken at the meeting. The board did not set a timetable or process for filling the position beyond the report that Mueller does not seek reappointment.
