The Salem Township Board of Auditors convened its re-organization meeting on Jan. 6, 2026, and moved to appoint officers and set a date to finalize compensation rules for township roadmasters.
At the start of the meeting, a motion by David Leitza, seconded by Nick Cornell, appointed Matt Rebitch as chair of the Board of Auditors; the motion passed unanimously. In a separate motion by Cornell and seconded by Leitza, Kelly Otto was appointed secretary; that motion also passed unanimously.
The board voted to advertise and hold a second auditors meeting on Jan. 21, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Salem Township Municipal Building for the purpose of approving the minutes from the Jan. 6 meeting and formally adopting Resolution No. 01-2026, which would confirm compensation for roadmasters. The board tabled formal adoption of Resolution No. 01-2026 until that meeting.
A motion to adjourn carried unanimously and the meeting ended at 6:46 p.m. The minutes were signed and submitted by Kelly Otto.
