Morgan's Point Resort council removes bank signer and reappoints Roxanne Stryker as mayor pro tem

The Morgan's Point Resort City Council approved routine business, removed a former staff member as an authorized bank signer and reappointed Roxanne Stryker as mayor pro tem during its regular meeting.

City staff recommended approval of resolution RS 26039 to remove Mary Tollman as an authorized signer and user on the city's Horizon Bank accounts. "This is done as a matter of course, and staff recommends approval of item RS 26039 as presented," said Miss Murillo. The council approved the resolution by a 5–0 vote.

Earlier the council accepted a corrected set of minutes for the June 22 meeting and approved the consent agenda. The meeting record names "Steven" as making the primary motion and "Roxanne" as second; the motion carried 5–0.

The council then took nominations for mayor pro tem. Chair nominated Roxanne Stryker; another council member volunteered for consideration. After brief discussion the council voted 4–1 to continue Roxanne Stryker as mayor pro tem. A council member questioned language in the draft resolution that referenced a "charter," saying the city does not have a charter and asking that wording be struck; members agreed to amend the text to refer to the city's governing documents and to set the term to run from election to election (May to May) because of the delayed runoff this year.

No roll-call votes by name were recorded in the transcript for each motion beyond the summary tallies given in the meeting record. The chair closed the regular session and announced an executive session would follow.
