Planning commission elects chair and vice chair amid procedural overview

Vice Chair Greene nominated "Ronald Reis as chair of the planning commission," and Commissioner Bertaux seconded the nomination. With no other nominations and no objections, "Ronald Reis is hereby elected as chair by unanimous consent," the chair declared.
For the vice chair position, Vice Chair Greene nominated Bill Hambach. "Hearing no objections, Bill Hambach is hereby elected as vice chair," the chair said.
Chair Ronald Bryce opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. and explained that elections would follow Robert’s Rules and the commission’s bylaws, noting that if there is a single nominee the commission may elect by acclamation; otherwise, roll‑call voting would be used. The chair said each commissioner would publicly state their vote during roll call if multiple nominees are present.
The commission also approved minutes from meetings on Jan. 23 and Feb. 6 by acclamation and adjourned at the meeting’s close. The new officers will serve one‑year terms as provided in Virginia code and the commission bylaws.
