Holdingford board adopts budget policy, accepts $18,634.24 in donations and hires auditor

At its July 15 meeting, the Holdingford Public School District Board of Education adopted several financial and governance items, accepted community donations, and approved an auditor engagement for the fiscal year.
The board approved Policy 701 (Establishment and Adoption of School District Budget) on a motion by Sarah Hansen and second by Ben Christensen; the motion carried unanimously. The board then adopted a resolution accepting donations from local organizations and individuals totaling $18,634.24. Donations listed in the resolution included $11,000 from Pheasants Forever for the district trap program, $6,679.49 from the PTA for elementary field trips, $560 from the Holdingford Food Shelf for community education, $200 from the Lions for the Environmental Resource Fund, $140 from Sam Scepaniak and an anonymous gift of $54.75 both designated to the elementary social worker.
Evelyn Martini moved adoption of the donations resolution and Nicole Burg seconded; the resolution was declared duly adopted by the board members present. The board publicly thanked donors for their contributions.
The board approved an audit engagement with BerganKDV for $28,500, with additional single-audit fees as needed, on a motion by Pat Meier and second by Ben Christensen; that motion carried unanimously. The board also authorized the Post Prom Committee to sell ice cream and hold 50/50 raffles at all home events.
Other governance items approved included Policy 208 (Development, Adoption, and Implementation of Policies), Policy 402 (Disability Nondiscrimination), and Policy 423 (Employee–Student Relationships). All policy motions carried on unanimous votes recorded at the meeting.
The consent agenda earlier that evening included approval of bills (computer checks) and an electronic transfer for June 2026 totaling $562,561.91; Treasurer's Report balance per books was acknowledged at $7,405,114.05.
