The Hemingford Public Schools Board of Education held a work session Oct. 20 to review facilities improvement concepts, planning, financing and construction and voted to excuse two absent members.
Board member Trish Schumacher called the session to order at 1:00 PM at South Campus. Notice of the meeting was given in advance through the Alliance Times-Herald, the minutes say.
Board Secretary Blanche Randolph moved to excuse absent board members Justin Ansley and Rick Horstman; Brett Cullan seconded the motion. A roll call recorded Ansley as absent, Cullan aye, Horstman absent, Randolph aye, Schumacher aye and Micki Votruba aye; the motion carried 4-0.
The work session brought in Jack Baker, Kelly Miles, Andy Forney, Austin Larsen and Scott Kralik to discuss facilities improvement concepts, planning, financing and construction. The minutes record that the board "conducted a work session" on those topics but do not record any formal votes, contract awards or specific decisions related to facilities in the published minutes.
The meeting adjourned at 2:33 PM. The minutes are signed by Dr. Travis Miller, Superintendent, and Blanche Randolph, Board Secretary.
