Eden board approves routine financial items, asks county to add speed signs near Manor Hill

The Village of Eden Board on June 16 approved a series of routine financial and administrative items, unanimously adopted the village CMAR report and agreed to county-installed speed signs near Manor Hill.
At the start of the meeting, President Kevin Goebel called the session to order and roll call was taken. The board approved the May 31 minutes on a motion by Joe Preston, seconded by Henry Guell. The treasurer’s report was approved the same way. Later motions to pay bills, authorize temporary borrowing and approve licenses were each approved unanimously.
During public comment, resident Steve Coughlin proposed placing “a rolling card in his yard selling greeting cards, Coasters and Wooden signs.” Meeting minutes indicate board members had no objection provided the display does not block traffic sight lines or the sidewalk.
Under new business the board unanimously approved the village CMAR report on a motion by Jay Baumhardt, seconded by Joe Preston. The board also approved a motion by Henry Guell, seconded by Jay Baumhardt, authorizing Fond du Lac County to add extra speed signs by Manor Hill to address local traffic safety concerns.
Trustee Henry Guell reported he is researching a potential chicken ordinance and said additional study is needed before the board will take further action. In updates on mail delivery, the board discussed installing a cluster mailbox on Pine Street and adding another on Reagan Drive to serve new houses on Shade Lane; the minutes list the approximate cost to the municipality for a cluster box at $3,000 plus roughly $600 for a concrete pad, and estimate the homeowner cost to purchase a box at about $225.
The meeting concluded after a motion by Henry Guell, seconded by Joe Preston, to adjourn. Kari Schlefke, clerk/treasurer, signed the minutes.
