Commander: Pasadena police received three ICE notifications in June; patrol not tasked to assist

Marcia Tagoretti, commander of Pasadena’s Criminal Investigations Division, updated the Public Safety Committee on July 15 that the police department received three federal notifications about ICE activities in June — on June 20, June 25 and June 28. She described the notifications as informational advisories that are logged and shared with watch commanders and patrol for situational awareness.
"These come in, to the watch commander or sometimes through our dispatch, and they're logged," Tagoretti said. "They're informational only. They're shared with our patrol personnel as a patrol advisement. Our patrol officers, they're not tasked to, support any immigration enforcement."
Committee members welcomed the transparency and asked that future reports explicitly state that the city does not coordinate civil immigration enforcement. Several members voiced concern about national enforcement decisions and emphasized the council's preference to protect undocumented residents while cooperating on criminal investigations when appropriate. One council member criticized recent federal choices to continue certain enforcement operations after a brief suspension.
Tagoretti said she will continue monthly reporting on immigration-related notifications and any additional activity that arises.
