Knox County Commission moves into executive session on personnel matter, then adjourns

The Knox County Commission voted unanimously 3-0 on Feb. 1, 2025 to enter executive session(s) to discuss personnel matters under "1 MRSA 4056 a," then returned to regular session and adjourned.

The meeting was called to order by the Chair, who opened the floor for public comment and, finding no speakers, closed the public comment period. The Chair then proposed taking the meeting into executive session "to discuss a personnel matter," citing "pursuant to 1 MRSA 4056 a." A Committee member moved the motion and seconded it; the Commission voted "3 in favor, none opposed." The Chair stated the board would conduct two executive sessions addressing two separate personnel matters under the same agenda heading.

Several short procedural and technical remarks followed while video was adjusted; the record shows the meeting then resumed in regular session. When asked whether there was any further business, a Committee member said there was none. The same Committee member moved to close the session and adjourn the meeting; the Commission again voted 3-0 in favor of adjournment.

The Chair announced a follow-up executive-session meeting planned for Friday at 2:00 p.m. and scheduled the next public meeting for Tuesday the 18th at 2:00 p.m., the day after a holiday. The Commission did not take any votes while in executive session, and no public testimony was heard at this meeting.
