Minneapolis Planning Commission adopts minutes and five consent items

The Minneapolis Planning Commission approved the minutes of its June 22 meeting and adopted a consent agenda covering five development applications during its July 13, 2026 meeting, Chair Chris Meyer said.

The meeting opened with Chair Chris Meyer and a roll call by the clerk that recorded five members present and five absent; Meyer then declared a quorum. Commissioners moved and seconded approval of the June 22 minutes, which passed by voice vote with no recorded opposition.

Chair Meyer read each item on the agenda and asked whether anyone wished to speak against staff recommendations. No members of the public rose to object to any of the projects called for consent. The items kept on consent included applications identified by the commission as: Jackson Street Northwest (addresses read as 2015 and 2019 Jackson Street NW), 3711 Penn Avenue North, Hennepin Avenue, 2nd Avenue North, and Lake Street East with Chicago Avenue. A commissioner moved to adopt the agenda with those items on consent; the motion was seconded and adopted by voice vote.

Following the public‑hearing opportunity for the consent agenda, a motion to adopt staff recommendations for items 4–8 was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote with no on‑record oppositions or abstentions noted in the transcript. Chair Meyer closed the business portion of the meeting and wished project applicants luck on their projects.

The commission announced upcoming meetings: a committee of the whole on Thursday to discuss data centers and the 25th plan, and the next full planning commission meeting scheduled for July 27.
