Cortland moves voting to Community Center as ADA work continues; water upgrades discussed

Village maintenance and utilities updates were discussed at the Feb. 11 meeting. Maintenance reported that voting will be moved to the Community Center while ADA compliance work continues and that Briggs has a bid from Fairbury Glass for ADA-compliant doors; the board will verify whether the election committee will contribute toward door costs and include the expense in the remodel budget if appropriate.
Utility Superintendent Briggs said staff plan to install about 30 water-meter antennas or radios this month and discussed an approximate $13,000 GPS system to map water lines; he said he will meet with Zach from Bennet and provide additional information at the March meeting. Briggs also reported he will meet with Pavers about sealing street cracks.
The board approved a 25% highway allocation match of $1,849 by motion of Meints and second by C. Moormeier. A motion was also approved to register Argo to attend the March 9–11 Water Conference in Kearney so he can continue as the village's backup water operator.
