The Saltville Town Council voted on June 24 to convene a closed session under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act provision for discussion of acquisition or disposition of public real property. Council Member Suzanne Abramson made the motion citing Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, §2.2‑3711(A)(3); Councilman Cary Sauls seconded the motion and the council recorded aye votes from present members.
The council amended its action during the closed session to allow Director of Public Works Brandon Frye to participate and voted on that amendment. At the meeting’s close each council member certified that the closed session had addressed only matters identified in the motion and that discussion was lawful under the cited Virginia code. Mayor Cheri Fullen then declared the meeting adjourned.
