The City of Galesville Police, Fire and Personnel Committee met June 26, 2025, and moved into a closed session to interview a candidate for an officer position, then reconvened without offering a recommendation to the city council.
Chair Ryker Todd called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The committee unanimously approved minutes from May 6 and May 15, 2025, on a motion by Committee member Jean Seely and a second by Todd. The agenda included a planned closed session specifically "for interview for officer position."
Committee member Jean Seely moved to enter closed session for that interview; the minutes record R. Todd and J. Seely as voting yes and note there were no opposed votes. After completing the closed session, the committee voted to come out of closed session; again the recorded votes by R. Todd and J. Seely were recorded as yes with none opposed. The committee recorded that it had "no recommendations to the council."
The meeting concluded with a motion by Seely to adjourn at 6:35 p.m., seconded by Todd; the motion carried. The minutes and the committee record do not specify the identity of the interviewee, any evaluative findings, or follow-up direction to staff. No formal appointment or referral was reported in the record.
