The License Committee voted to approve Rowdy's Beer Garden's application to expand its premises so the business can host an outdoor barbecue and smoke-off on Oct. 18.
Alder Toman said Rowdy's has held outdoor events in past years and is seeking to extend its lot to include a beer tent for the Oct. 18 event, proposed to run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. He said the expanded area shown on the application's map measures about 130 by 55 feet and that both the police department and the fire department reviewed the plan and had no issues.
Alder Toman moved to approve the committee's recommendation to the common council; the motion was seconded and the clerk called the roll. Alders Wertenweiler, Toman, Miller and Westin all recorded "aye," and the motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
Earlier in the meeting the committee approved minutes from Aug. 25, 2025, and after the Rowdy's item members moved to adjourn. The chair called for a voice vote on adjournment; one affirmative response was voiced, no opposition was recorded, and the chair declared the meeting adjourned.
