Monroe council authorizes urban forestry grant applications

The City of Monroe authorized applications for an urban forestry grant and an urban forestry catastrophic storm grant at the Sept. 2 council meeting.
City Forester Josh Trami requested the Council of the Whole resolution authorizing the annual grant application. Administrator Randy explained the application is part of the budget process: the city includes the expected revenues and expenditures in the budget and does not spend the funds unless the grant is awarded.
Council members voted unanimously to approve the authorization.
