Commissioners approve final billing and change order for county security center design

Byron Sanders of Project Partnerships told the Warrick County Board of Commissioners the architect/engineer (RQAW DCCM) submitted a final billing and a list of additional design services needed to close out the security center project.
Sanders said the additional services — adjustments to egress doors, reduced parking‑striping changes, a new water‑line tap and an oil‑water separator — total $12,500. He told commissioners the final contract amount will be $2,187,000, which he said is below his earlier estimate and within the project budget. "This is a wrap up submittal for RQAW’s final contract," Sanders said.
A commissioner moved to approve the change order and the board voted in favor. Sanders and staff said approval would allow final billing to be processed and the project to move toward completion.
The board also discussed earlier related items, including cost-sharing with the city on nearby drainage work needed to make the correctional center entrance navigable; Sanders said the county has already paid contractors and will seek city reimbursement where negotiated.
