The Clifton Town Council approved two commercial use permits at its Aug. 6 meeting after recommendations from the Planning Commission.
The Planning Commission recommended approval of a permit for Tamara Crean on behalf of Wheelhouse Pilates to change space at 12642 Chapel Road from M-5 to Suite M-8 for private pilates/yoga sessions by appointment only. The use would occupy 180 square feet with not more than one employee on site at any time and hours Monday–Saturday, 7 a.m.–9 p.m.; the recommendation included allocation of one parking space. Mayor Tom Peterson moved to approve and the motion passed by poll 4–0.
The Commission also recommended approval for applicant Sarah Mulhaul on behalf of the Corvus Center for Mental Health Services to use 81 square feet at 12642 Chapel Road (Suite U-11) as an office with one employee on site Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; recommendation included allocation of one parking space. The council approved that permit by poll 4–0 as well.
Both approvals were conditioned on the described staffing and hours and the allocation of one parking space each.
Next steps: Applicants may proceed under the terms recommended by the Planning Commission and approved by the council.
