Superintendent outlines early priorities and safety work; district reports fully staffed certified positions

During reports at the July 13 meeting, Dr. Poyser told the board he has met with local law enforcement to discuss safety and will present a 100-day progress update on Oct. 8. He said the district is working through its budget and cash balances and that he will return with a summary of progress against his commitments.
Ms. Phillips reported the district is fully staffed in certified positions, that a small number of classified roles remain open, and that classified staff orientation is scheduled for Aug. 4 while professional development for staff is planned for Aug. 5. She urged board members to check building schedules for specific back-to-school events.
Dr. Poyser asked board members to note a planned meeting with Dr. Hubbard on Aug. 17 so they can confirm availability. The board had no public comments and moved from reports into action items later in the meeting.
