At the July 14 meeting of the Furnas County Board of Commissioners, Caitlin Whitehead of Prairie Plains CASA presented the program’s 2025–2026 impact report. Following the presentation, Commissioner Dennis Tegtman moved, and Commissioner Allan McCoy seconded, a motion to give $5,000 in county support to Prairie Plains CASA. The motion passed with aye votes from Commissioners Mike Sexton, Dennis Tegtman and Allan McCoy.
The presentation and funding vote were taken during the regular board session. The meeting record shows the board later recessed to an executive session at 9:25 a.m. under the statutory exception to prevent needless injury to the reputation of a person; the record indicates the board subsequently reconvened and continued business.
