Mason Consolidated Schools’ Board of Education on Sept. 3 introduced two new teachers and approved several personnel items and routine administrative matters.
The board welcomed new teachers Traci Fackelman and Karen DuRocher. Superintendent’s remarks in the minutes noted a smooth start to the school year and highlighted staggered kindergarten starts that provided a calmer transition for students and families.
Personnel updates recorded in the minutes show Joey Cusumano was hired as the district’s Level 1 Tech and had already started, while Nichole Wright was hired as Accounting Assistant with a first day of Sept. 15. The board approved the consent agenda — which included the Aug. 6 meeting minutes and the August 2025 check register — on a motion by Board member England, supported by Board member Nehrig; that motion carried 4-0 (one member had left the meeting).
Other items included administrative written reports posted on the district website and operations staff, with Deputy Rollins, working on improving elementary parent pickup/drop-off areas. The board recognized staff and students for spring assessment performance and extracurricular updates.
The board adjourned at 7:37 p.m.; the motion to adjourn was moved by Board member Nehrig, supported by Board member Smith, and carried 4-0.
