Resolution 1881 — parade security amendment: Council approved Resolution 1881 authorizing the mayor to execute Amendment No. 1 to the provision of service agreement with the Chamber of Commerce to provide additional funding for July 4 parade security. Parks Director Lina Hicks said the amendment reallocates $15,000 previously authorized by council as follows: $8,500 for parade-route barriers, $2,500 for overtime to cover six additional city staff, and $4,000 to the Chamber for hiring security and event staffing. Council moved, seconded and approved the resolution by voice vote.
Other items: Ordinance 2,839 (electric motorcycles) and Ordinance 2,841 (2026 budget amendment #1) were read by title at first reading but not adopted; further council action may follow.
