The council also discussed short-term options such as exercising any month-to-month continuance clause in the contract if one exists to avoid tactical exposure while the issue is resolved. The item will return to a future meeting when staff and counsel can present the procurement timeline and legal findings.
The tabling leaves the mayor's veto unresolved at the time of adjournment; the council asked for a written response from administration and a legal memo for the next meeting.
