Mapleton board approves audits, staff contracts, salary increases, bussing bids and fee hikes

The board approved a $0.50 raise for returning non‑certified (hourly) staff while retaining a single district‑paid health, dental and vision premium.
On individual compensation, the board approved a salary increase for the Business Manager to $73,000 after a motion from Brandon Runck; Steckler seconded and the motion carried. Runck also moved to approve a 2% raise for the Superintendent (recorded as an $1,100 increase); Steckler seconded and the motion carried.
The board authorized staff to begin soliciting bussing bids for the 2026–27 school year. It also approved increases to activity fees (from $35 to $50 with a $125 family cap), after‑school tuition (from $300 to $350) and summer program tuition (from $1,050 to $1,200). Breakfast and lunch prices were proposed to remain at $2.45 and $3.45 respectively and the board approved keeping them unchanged.
