The Kachemak Bay State Park Citizens Advisory Board met and elected Robert Archibald chair and Nancy Hilter vice chair, approving the agenda and minutes for the session by unanimous voice vote. The board also confirmed administrative support arrangements and procedures for recording and amending minutes.
Archibald, a returning board member who introduced himself during the meeting, was nominated and seconded for chair and accepted the position. Nancy Hilter, who joined the meeting remotely and described connectivity issues with Starlink, agreed to serve as vice chair and the board raised no objection to her appointment.
Members approved the meeting agenda after a motion and second and later approved the May 8 minutes as amended to correct a trail distance and a street spelling. Board members and staff reminded participants that meeting recordings are the official record and that motions should be identified by speaker for accurate transcription.
The board confirmed Kristen Dixon and Sue Christiansen will continue supporting minutes and transcripts, with the chair noting that recordings will be used to resolve discrepancies in minutes. The chair said he will prepare and circulate a draft schedule showing each member’s term expiration dates so the board can consider aligning appointments with the fall meeting cycle.
The meeting adjourned after committee updates and public comments with several follow‑up items scheduled for the next meetings, including a trails meeting focused on maps and outhouse maintenance.
