At its Jan. 14 meeting the Freeman Public Schools Board of Education approved a slate of routine business items, including a consent agenda that contained $727,263.44 in claims and multiple personnel and program recognitions.
The board voted 6-0 to pay annual dues of $4,495 to the Nebraska Association of School Boards and to renew the district's SparqData meeting subscription and negotiations software for $4,500. The board also unanimously appointed the district Superintendent as the Title IX Non-Discrimination Compliance Coordinator.
Members approved revisions or adoptions of policies 5005, 5006, 5007, 5009, 5010, 5011, 5012 and 5014, and they approved the 2026 Superintendent goals that emphasize alignment of mission, vision and district goals along with regular reporting of progress.
The board accepted bids from Carroll Seating and Buhr Electric for the South Gym bleacher project; the motion passed 6-0. The claims list attached to the consent agenda includes itemized payments to vendors and service providers, among them ESU 5 ($48,897.53), Sterling Computers Corporation ($15,483.94) and Truck Center Companies ($17,879.88). The meeting minutes also record an invoice line for Clark Enersen Partners related to the south-gym bleacher project ($2,173.90) as part of the claims listing.
All motions described above passed by unanimous voice recorded vote. The meeting ended at 8:30 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 9, 2026.
