Boswell marshal tightens parking, animal enforcement; schedules convocation and 'Comics with a Cop'

Marshal Michael Marquess II told the Boswell Town Council at its March 11 meeting that the police department will more strictly enforce parking and animal rules to reduce recurring service calls.
"Vehicles at the apartments will no longer be parking in the emergency parking spot or they will be towed," Marquess said. He also told the council that animals must be fenced in or on a leash and that "if you are feeding or sheltering an animal it is now yours," a new enforcement posture the department is adopting because of the volume of calls.
Marquess reported the department handled 65 calls for service and said spring vehicle and real‑estate nuisances will receive a verbal warning before fines are imposed. He announced two upcoming public events: a Mental Health and Drug Addiction Convocation for law enforcement and the public on May 1 from 6–8 p.m. at the Community Center, and "Comics with a Cop" on May 10 from 9 a.m. to noon, described as family‑oriented with activities and a free comic book for attendees.
The announcements give residents guidance about immediate enforcement changes and provide opportunities for community engagement with law enforcement.
