The Springfield Board of Selectmen reorganized its leadership and handled several routine procedural matters at its March 23 meeting at the Memorial Building.
New Select Board member Erin Meding was welcomed and moved to nominate Jen Roberts as chair; Jen seconded the nomination and both members voted in favor. Roberts then moved, and Meding seconded, Meding’s nomination as vice chair; both voted in favor. The Board reviewed and confirmed department and commission assignments, designating who will represent the board on planning, zoning, highway, budget and other committees.
The Board accepted the Zoning Coordinator/Health Officer report as written after a motion by Roberts and second by Meding; the motion passed with both members voting aye. Later in the meeting the Board voted to enter non‑public session under RSA 91‑A:3, II(a) and, after returning to public session, voted to seal the minutes of that non‑public session. The meeting adjourned at 6:06 p.m.
The votes reported at the meeting were recorded as roll calls with two participating members, Jen Roberts (chair) and Erin Meding (vice chair). The Board noted open items to be handled at future meetings including selection of a trustee for a two‑year term for the Trustees of the Trust Funds and a review of the municipal fee schedule.
The next regular Select Board meeting is scheduled for April 13, when the postponed public hearing on amendments to the municipal fee schedule will be re‑noticed and other pending items will be revisited.
