Brad Moughon, the Fairview Area School District business manager, presented March financial reports and outlined a multi-part plan to streamline the district business office at the board’s April 13 meeting.
Moughon told the board he plans staff training on an electronic purchase-order system at fall professional development and recommended adopting Red Rover, a time-management system that would sync payroll and clock-in/clock-out for bus drivers, paraprofessionals, kitchen and custodial staff. He said Red Rover is estimated to cost $1,600 per year and would save roughly one day of work per payroll period.
Superintendent Troy Ross confirmed the district is reviewing the March financial reports as part of the effort to establish “lasting systems” in the business office and said the changes are intended to reduce manual work and improve payroll accuracy. Ross also reported the district maintains a student athletic co-op with Mio.
The board did not take a separate formal vote on Red Rover during the meeting; Moughon presented the recommendation as part of his administrative update. The meeting’s consent agenda later included the March financial reports for approval as part of the administrative reports that passed by majority vote.
