In a roll-call selection, board members announced their preferences: Gary Wnuk (for Brent Salsbury), Janice Handrich (for David Miron), Ryan King (for Brent Salsbury), Amber Larrison (for David Miron), Mike Alchin (for David Miron) and Anne Tompkins (for David Miron). The board tallied four votes for Miron and two for Salsbury and declared Miron appointed.
The board noted that Miron would be seated at the table immediately but would not have voting privileges until he files his acceptance of office at the Oscoda County Courthouse within 10 business days, as required by the board's stated process. The appointment followed interviews in which each board member and the superintendent and principal alternated asking questions of the applicants.
No formal contest or appeal was recorded at the meeting. The board did not record additional conditions on Miron's appointment during the session.
